It’s that time of the year again! The whole family comes together to enjoy weeks of festivity and joy, and St. Andrews has got you covered for entertainment.

The festive season is here and there is still time to experience all the events which make St. Andrews and Fife such fantastic places to live. Here’s a list of some top attractions you don’t want to miss:



This beautiful service brings Christmas to life with carols sung by choristers from St. Salvator’s Chapel Choir, and a reflection on the Christmas story from the Chaplain, Revd Dr. Donald MacEwan.

The service is a great evening for all the family, regardless of singing ability or religion.

All who attend will be accommodated up to the chapel’s capacity – no prior reservation is available.

Door will open at 6:45 pm with the service beginning at 7:30pm, and it is important to note that face coverings must always be worn by members of the congregation during the service, unless you are exempt.



Forgan’s are hosting a night of traditional Scottish fun this Christmas Eve. A wide range of entertainment, including a live fiddler and ceilidhs, is accompanied by a scrumptious three course meal. Kilts are positively encouraged!

Adult tickets also include a glass of fizz or dram of whisky, and are priced at £39.95 per person.

Children can attend at £17.95 each, with a glass of juice to go with their meals. Entry from 5pm.




Fairmont Hotel are hosting their splendid annual Christmas dinner, which combines traditional culinary treats, festive cheer and warm Scottish hospitality to create a spectacular experience for you and your family this festive season.

Musicals come into their own at Christmas time and everyone loves a good singalong, not least a panto! The Byre Theatre are putting on another side-splitting edition of Jack and the Beanstalk, running from the 2nd all the way through to New Year’s Eve.

Another family favourite, Annie, was performed at the theatre at Newport-On-Tay from the 5th to the 8th of December. If that’s not enough to quench your musical thirst, a Jersey Boys Tribute Act will be playing at the Fairmont St Andrews Hotel on Tuesday 14th.
